Talkin' on Sunshine Speech Therapy

A woman-owned, privately paid speech therapy service for children in and around Ewa Beach, HI. We currently specialize in the assessment and treatment of speech sound disorders and receptive and expressive language disorders.

Therapy treating speech and language can lead to improved speech clarity and communication skills, greater self-confidence, and increased success in social and academic settings.

Comprehensive Evaluations

A full speech and language evaluation provides a comprehensive assessment of the child's speech sounds, receptive and expressive language skills compared to same aged peers.

A comprehensive report will be included detailing the standardized assessment scores, observations, a summary of the findings and recommendations.

Individualized Therapy

Based on the results of the evaluation a customized therapy plan will be developed to address current areas of concern.

Therapy sessions may include a play and/or drill-based approach depending on the child's interests, capabilities and needs.

Sessions are planned with your child in mind!

Talkin' on Sunshine Speech Therapy is currently private pay only. Accepted forms of payment include cash, check and credit/debit card. A superbill may be provided upon request for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

Meet the SLP

Cassidy Hurd, M.A., CCC-SLP

is a Speech-Language Pathologist and owner of Talkin' on Sunshine Speech Therapy based in Ewa Beach, HI. She is passionate about helping children with speech sound disorders, striving to create a safe and fun environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their speech sound challenges.

Cassidy earned her Bachelor's Degree at San Diego State University in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, followed by her Master's Degree at Michigan State University in Communicative Sciences and Disorders. Cassidy holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) with the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and she is licensed to practice in the state of Hawaii.

Throughout her experience as an SLP, Cassidy has worked with children ages 2-17 years old in Michigan and Hawaii. She has provided speech and language services within pre-schools, elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as in-home services.

In addition to working as a speech therapist, Cassidy enjoys reading, ice cream, and all activities outdoors - hiking, surfing and freediving!
